launch of the "Certification in the Management of the Altered Airway" Rila Institute of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of the "Certification in the Management of the Altered Airway (Tracheostomy & Laryngectomy)", for all healthcare professionals involved in caring for patients, in hospital or the community, with an Altered Airway. The Certification has been developed by a multidisciplinary team of Surgeons (ENT), Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurse Practitioners and Anaesthetists/Intensivists. It will provide a blended form of learning over ~4 months which includes lectures, hands on workshops, online reading and assessments, interactive webinars, competency skills acquisition with a local supervisor/mentor and a final summative examination. The programme has been accredited by ENT-UK (the national UK professional organisation for ENT surgeons) for 40 CPD credits.
